Dine Out of the Odds: New York’s Theme Restaurants

26

New York City has a huge number of interesting establishments, including themed restaurants. The decoration of the hall in such places is made in accordance with the chosen popular film or storyline. Prices in such places are a little high, and most likely you will have to wait a little bit for a table. Themed restaurants are very touristy. I don’t recommend putting them as a priority if you are looking for high quality food. However, it’s worth noting that they are a lot of fun.

Ellen’s Stardust Diner.

If you have a desire to visit an unusual establishment, go to Ellen’s Stardust Diner. The highlight of this place is that the entire staff are entertainers who entertain visitors with variety numbers throughout the day. In addition, most of the staff are aspiring Broadway performers waiting for their big break, so the quality of the performances is always top notch. However, the food there is not fantastic, so just go there for the show. Ellan’s Stardust Diner is considered a very popular place, and you can stand in line for 2 hours in the evening. If you want to avoid the crowds, go there for breakfast around 08:00.

Bubba Gump

Bubba Gump restaurant is completely dedicated to the famous movie “Forrest Gump”. Everyone who is familiar with this movie will definitely remember the character named Bubba, who all his life dreamed of opening a shrimp restaurant. Most of the time, all the tables in the restaurant are busy. The waiters are very fast, so you won’t have to wait long. Go there if you like shrimp because it’s always on the menu.

Hard Rock Café

A visit to the Hard Rock Café in New York City is like going to a rock music museum. The 708-seat Hard Rock Café in New York is considered one of the chain’s largest restaurants worldwide. The restaurant is filled with a collection of rock legends such as The Beatles, Nirvana, The Ramones and many others. What makes Hard Rock Café in New York unique is that all of the items and bands are partially associated with New York City, such as John Lennon. Once or twice a day, all the restaurant employees gather to dance to Y. M. C. A Village People and invite everyone in the restaurant to dance with them.

Tip: Don’t leave the restaurant without trying one of the typically American desserts, apple pie. You won’t regret it!

You can also order a 2 or 3-course dinner with different themes such as bluegrass, hip-hop or blues. All menus include one non-alcoholic drink and dessert. There is a Lil Rocker menu for kids.

Jekyll & Hyde Club

Jekyll & Hyde Club Restaurant is a very fun place, with a classic American horror movie theme. Do you have nerves of steel and are hard to scare? Test yourself at the haunted restaurant Jekyll & Hyde Club. The restaurant building is filled with actors who will try to scare you. The prices here are a bit steep, but the entertainment is definitely worth it. No reservations are required.

Trinity Place

Go for a drink or dinner at Trinity Place in midtown Manhattan and you can brag that you’ve been in a real bank vault! This restaurant in the Financial District, near the National September 11 Memorial was proclaimed in 1904 as the largest and safest bank vault in the world. These days, the space has been transformed into an atmospheric restaurant where you can enjoy brunch, lunch, dinner, or just a cocktail at the bar. Because of its location, the restaurant is popular with bankers working in the area. Not too many families come here. If you’re going to go with the kids, lunch would be the best option.
